Cut around damage use a utility knife to cut around the damaged area. Hold the removed segment up to a spare piece of vinyl siding. Pull the device down and outwards to unhook the lower lip of the siding and then slide the tool along to unhook the lower part completely. Use a zipper tool to remove the cutout.

Allow it to completely dry then use a razor scraper to cut the excess caulk flush with the outside of the siding. Insert the zip removal tool under the vinyl siding until it hooks onto the lower part of the broken siding. Cut a vinyl patch 4 inches 10 cm wider than the removed segment. Squirt a generous dollop of exterior caulking that matches the color of the siding into the hole.

Start at the bottom of the piece that is being replaced and insert a wooden shim between the pieces of siding as the zip tool slides along the siding.
